Registration open: Webinar “Challenges of the military organizational culture in the face of sexual harassment and abuse”
On Monday, September 2nd at 13.00 hours (GTM) RESDAL International and the IAEN invite you to the webinar “Challenges of the military organizational culture in the face of sexual harassment and abuse” in the framework of the project “Women in peace operations: supporting inclusive environments through interregional collaboration and national engagement” supported by Foreign Affairs Canada.
The event will have simultaneous translation in Spanish and English and prior registration is required to participate.
The program will begin with a discussion of the fundamentals of military institutions and how the hierarchy functions at the technical level and as esprit de corps. Then, the perspective on how cases of sexual harassment and abuse are gandled within an official institution will be presented. It will also address how investigators and practitioners must take into account the particularities of security institutions when analyzing these types of issues.
We will take as a starting point the homonymous publication published by RESDAL International within the framework of the aforementioned project under the authorship of Rosita Chacón Castro( Major of Justice in Passive Service. Academic and Founder of the National Academy of Military History of Ecuador).
The webinar will focus on how to address an issue such as sexual harassment and abuse within official institutions, whether security institutions such as the armed forces or official institutions such as ministries.
