The conference will address key topics such as “Cyber Defense and Cyberspace,” “Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Management,” and “Women, Peace, and Security.” Since its establishment in 1995, the CMDA has become a central forum for multilateral dialogue on defense and security in the region.
The RESDAL´s Atlas is a key reference tool that offers a comprehensive and up-to-date analysis of defense policies across the region. With essential data on budgets, armed forces, international relations, and legal frameworks, it has become an indispensable resource for researchers, academics, policymakers, and anyone interested in hemispheric security and defense.
The Comparative Atlas 2024 includes the latest data, providing a detailed overview to assess and compare the progress and challenges faced by Latin America and the Caribbean in defense and security. Moreover, this edition serves as a platform to promote transparency and to foster dialogue between countries, encouraging debate on critical issues such as women’s participation in the armed forces, risk management, and regional cooperation.
This edition of the ATLAS was produced with the support of Global Affairs Canada through the project “Women in Peace Operations: Supporting Inclusive Environments through Interregional Collaboration and National Engagement.”
