RESDAL
publishes global report on 2023 trends in security and democracy
"Contemplating
trends for 2023 in security and democracy" is the title of the report
developed by RESDAL and the Global Community for Security and Peace (GPSP).
This
initiative responds to the need to diagnose the security context in the
post-pandemic environment. It is an unprecedented effort that interviewed fifty
experts from around the world to gather their insights and recommendations for
global, regional, and national security.
The report
analyzes and includes voices from Africa, Asia, MENA (Middle East and North
Africa), Latin America and the Caribbean, North America, and Europe. It was
developed based on specialists' responses to an identical questionnaire, which
included rating a series of statements, defining the major challenges observed
globally, and providing regional and national security recommendations to
political leaders
The
interviews were conducted individually by experts from RESDAL and the Global
Alliance for Security and Peace. In order to obtain a broad perspective beyond
specific situations, the interviews were conducted between late 2021 and early
2022 and included an equitable distribution of regional and gender
representation.
